As you can tell from the blog logo, I’m all about that Disney life. Ever since I return back to Hong Kong in 2021, my annual pass has been my sidekick. Obviously, I couldn’t resist checking out the very first Frozen Land in the world when the opportunity knocked.
Sure, Hong Kong Disneyland isn’t massive, and the Frozen world isn’t gigantic either. But stick with me as I spill the tea on all the hidden gems and details across multiple episodes. Today, let me give you the lowdown on the three main attractions in this winter wonderland!
Icy Adventures Await – “Frozen Ever After”
The majestic “Frozen Ever After” ride is the definitely the heart of the Frozen Land. Hop on a boat and cruise through the breathtaking landscapes of Arendelle, encountering beloved characters and reliving those key movie moments. This ride seamlessly blends cutting-edge technology with Disney’s storytelling magic. We were legit amazed at every turn—setup, music, lighting, all on point. It’s not your typical Disneyland storytelling ride; the boat moves forward and backward, and it wraps up with a thrilling splashy finale. The wait was supposed to be 50 minutes, but we breezed through in about 40.
Honest Review: Just like my last trip to Tokyo Disneyland for the “Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” ride, this Frozen ride is a game-changer. It’s worth a visit to Hong Kong Disneyland just for this. If you’re cool with splurging a bit to skip the lines, go for the Disney Primer Access—it’s totally worth it!
Wintry Blast – “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs”
Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs is a whimsical sleigh ride through Arendelle’s snowy landscapes, inspired by the humorous and friendly character Oaken from Frozen. Expect thrilling twists and turns that capture the essence of winter fun. But here’s the real talk—it’s unexpectedly short, like 30 seconds short. And the line? Well, that might take longer than expected.
As usual, Disney nails the decorations along the wait, but compared to the ride time, it’s a bit too brief. If Frozen isn’t your jam, maybe
skip this one and save time for other cool stuff at Hong Kong Disneyland. No need to drop extra cash on Disney Primer Access for this ride.
Meet and Greet with Royalty – “Playhouse in the Woods”
For those dying to meet the regal sisters – Elsa and Anna, “Playhouse in the Woods” is your spot. It’s the only show in the World of Frozen. Get ready to be part of the story, following Olaf, Elsa and Anna to the sisters’ childhood playhouse in the Arendelle Forest, where the sisters guide you to explore your connection to the elemental spirits.
Perfect for little Frozen fans! It’s a chance to get up close with the characters who stole hearts worldwide. But truth be told, the storyline and special effects didn’t blow me away as a grownup. Adult fans, consider checking out the “Mickey and the Wondrous Book” show in Fantasyland instead. If you’re keen on the show, grab the Disney Standby Pass for free via the Hong Kong Disneyland App. With the pass, you can wander around and return within a specific time frame before the show kicks off.
Conclusion
The World of Frozen serves up an immersive experience for Frozen fans of all ages. Whether you’re sliding through Arendelle, sailing through the iconic movie scenes, or hanging out with Elsa, Anna, and Olaf at the playhouse, the enchantment of Arendelle is alive and well in this magical corner of the theme park. Among the attractions, “Frozen Ever After” steals the spotlight, letting guests witness the magic of Disney intertwining with the captivating tale of Frozen.
